tangibles #2

evening.
he sat quietly,
silently staring out the window.
"What do you say to a world leader?"
I smiled.
"You say the truth."
he typed on.
a little noise wound up
into the moving air.
history,
history being made.
the letters rolled on.
April 1st. April 1st.

tangibles #1

i feel like i want to be a kid again.
a little one.
when everything was new and the sun was bright, never blinding.
when stories were made in plastic dollhouses and people had depth to them.
and sometimes, when i look too deep in the irises of someone's eyes, or when i skip over the cracks on the sidewalks,
i feel her old wildness.
will you help me get it back?
sit in the overgrown grass and watch the stars with me.
let's be flowers in a world of weeds.
let's help each other be kids again.
